Founded in 1988, Simon Clowes Transport has an ever growing fleet of 13 vehicles including bulk artic tipper and blower units that deliver nationally. The company specialise in moving animal feed, pulses, biomass fuel, aggregates, sand, gravel and bulk blown or tipped products. Following the organisation’s success, HaulTech’s bulk haulage transport software solution is allowing Simon Clowes to replace their previous paper and excel based transport administration processes with a simple to use tech-based alternative.

Prior to HaulTech’s implementation the Simon Clowes team used paper sheets and paper transport diaries to record and plan their work. Paper tickets were generated via Microsoft Word (or hand written by drivers) before being signed off by their customer and/or the recipient of the goods. Every Monday the Proof of Delivery (POD) / Proof of Collection (POC), weighbridge tickets and any supporting documents were checked against the driver’s paper manifest before being scanned and saved. Jobs were price sanity checked by the team before then being manually typed into Sage before invoices were printed and/or emailed to customers.
Since the introduction of HaulTech’s Bulk Haulage Software System labour intensive duplication has now disappeared and the company is seeing workload processed far faster. As job detail and pricing is now centrally held and managed by the HaulTech TMS, simple and more complex KPI reporting enables Simon Clowes Transport to quickly access performance statistics to help them to better manage the effectiveness of their operation.
