We are proud to be celebrating the hard-working women of HaulTech as part of Women’s History Month.
FACT: 92% of the transport industry’s employees are male. FACT: 81% of the technology industry’s employees are male. FACT: 25% of HaulTech’s workforce is female.
According to reports, 51% of the UK population are female and responsible for 70% of the UK’s household purchasing decisions yet they make up less than half the economic workforce. The same report suggests, ‘companies with more women on their boards were found to outperform their rivals with a 42% higher return in sales, 66% higher return on invested capital and 53% higher
return on equity’. HaulTech’s diverse workforce contributes to its success. The team is built up of people from different backgrounds who have unique skills and perspectives to offer. The population of women at HaulTech is hugely above average for the industry it is in.
75% of the women at HaulTech are in managerial positions. Clare Chidlow, one of HaulTech’s Executive Directors said “these women didn’t get the position because of their gender, they work at HaulTech because of their strong capabilities.” HaulTech’s balanced workforce continues to work tirelessly to help and support hauliers across the UK on their technology journey to enhance their processes.
Today HaulTech carries forward the importance of diversity in business and is paving the way for the future generations to come. HaulTech are breaking barriers from pre-conceived gender roles in the transport and technology business. Executive Director, Clare said, “I am proud of the legacy we are building and the precedent we are setting for diversity in our industry.”
She continued, “I hope the work we are doing today inspires future generations, regardless of gender, to find their passion and chase it.”
