HaulTech are proud sponsors of the Alice Charity and are excited to be celebrating their CEO, Steph Talbot in honour of Women’s History Month and International Women’s day.

Steph is the head of the Alice Charity and a prominent figure in Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-Under-Lyme. Along with her daughter Emily, the two founded the Alice Charity in 2011 after noticing the lack of support for families in HaulTech’s local area. After being exposed to poverty in the community they worked tirelessly to create an environment where families could not only survive but thrive with aid from the charity.

Steph mentioned the Alice Charity “prides itself on providing families with emotional support and boosting the mental wellbeing of people in the local community”. The charity continues to grow and support families in need. They provide a People’s Pantry, parent and toddler groups (Big Cup) and have recently recognised that the lack of support for single dads was a growing concern in the community and responded by introducing a male coach who supports men and their children.

The Alice charity managed to support 3000 families in 2020 and plan to exceed that in 2021. As head of the charity Steph, “loves being able to provide unconditional support to the community however the fact we have to provide more support is sad and shows the increasing numbers of poverty issues in the community”. With the combined support of individuals and companies alike the charity will be able to carry on with their much needed hard work in the local area.

The charity’s work in the area is having a huge positive impact and Steph praised her team for their hard work. “Seeing families grow from our support is the reason we do this job and seeing the team grow is an honour.” Steph’s largely predominantly female team has grown over the years and is giving women a platform to enhance their skillset whilst providing charitable services.

Steph implored that aspiring women should “Get good mentors, with the same values as you and have the experience you want.”

HaulTech are proud supporters of the Alice Charity and are honoured to recognise their CEO, Steph Talbot, for Women’s History Month.
