The Director of freight forwarding company TransXport talks about the logistics of her company and how a Transport Management System has helped her to improve her workflow.
Established in 2022, TransXport is a Midlands-based, Freight forwarding company run by transport expert Hannah Mocroft. The company specialises in the movement of freight whether small parcels, crates and pallets or full loads, across the UK, Ireland, Europe and various overseas settlements. We were fortunate enough to be able to speak to Hannah about her new company, her career and the introduction of technology into the sector.
HaulTech: Can you tell us about your career in transport and why you decided to embark on an adventure to open your own company?
Hannah: I have worked in transport for over 5 years doing various roles such as transport planning. It’s a really challenging career but it is rewarding and equally thrilling. One of the hardest things in transport is creating a good work/ life balance, in fact it’s the reason I started my own company so I could focus on finding a good equilibrium for those things.
HaulTech: How has your role varied now you’ve started TransXport?
Hannah: As the managing director of TransXport, I manage everything, from generating the sales leads, raising the orders, sourcing the subcontractors, tracking the consignments to processing the payments.
HaulTech: Finding work/ life balance whilst starting a new company can be a difficult thing, how have you found it?
Hannah: With my experience in transport, I feel like I have had a headstart, also I have managed to put things into place to help reduce my workload drastically. I wanted my business to run smoothly so I introduced a Transport Management System which has worked wonders for me.
HaulTech: You mentioned you wanted to run your business smoothly, what made you turn to a Transport System?
Hannah: From my time working in transport you understand the need for being organised & proactive and a transport system allows you to eliminate a lot of the time-consuming things. It can’t make errors of forgetting things, which makes it very reliable and it’ll do the things you need when you need them done.
HaulTech: Where do you find that this technology has helped your operations?
Hannah: Having to run all different areas from lead generation all the way through to processing invoices you have very little time. So using HaulTech.365 has allowed me to focus on other areas of the business. When I have worked with other transport systems previously they have been extremely longwinded and time-consuming. But the HaulTech system helps in many aspects, it’s quick and easy, the tabs are simple to navigate and it helps keep track of what orders you have via the diary tab. I like to see the week ahead and what jobs are planned so I can ensure I have the right drivers in place.

Hannah: Yes I would recommend this to other companies, especially to companies who are looking for simple, cost-effective, reliable transport software that does exactly what it says.
