Staffordshire-based demolition experts, S.J. Walchester have joined HaulTech for operational improvements and reduced road risk.
Founded in 2007, S.J. Walchester are a family-run organisation based in Staffordshire built on reliability, teamwork, dedication and excellent customer relationships. Operating with a fleet of 28 vehicles, including HGVs and vans, Walchester’s are specialists in demolition, earthmoving and recycling – Reusing 80% of all products that they demolish and utilising them on other sites.
After meeting with the team at S.J. Walchester earlier in 2020, it became apparent that the existing platforms used by the team were not only expensive but complicated and ineffective when it was called upon. Transport Coordinator Charlie Green stated how they needed something that offered a “better user interface”.
“We needed a system that was easier to use and gave us access to the information we needed, quickly” she added. HaulTech’s integrated vehicle CCTV and tracking solution has been developed to provide impactful data that enhances the operations of hauliers.
For S.J. Walchester, planning daily work has become easier for Charlie and the team thanks to the TrakMan platform. The innovative features of the system allow users to locate the nearest vehicle to a location which has allowed Charlie to send the best vehicle for the next ad-hoc job. Accurate vehicle locations have also helped improve efficiency by maximising the time on site which is often limited.
The integrated TrakMan solution has not only provided operational improvements, S.J. Walchester have been able to defend themselves against some near misses and falsified reports. Charlie mentioned how “a driver was travelling at speed and nearly hit one of our vehicles at high speed”.
“The camera footage provided the evidence we needed and resulted in the other driver being prosecuted”.
