Welsh haulier Monk Transport have ditched their legacy paper/excel job booking, transport planning and invoice process after choosing HaulTech’s easy to use, multi-award winning, Bulk Haulage Software System.
The Mostyn haulier previously relied on hand-written documents/spreadsheets where they would record and update work instructions, assign drivers, vehicles, trailers or subcontractors before calling or messaging the driver to pass on job details. Drivers would complete Proof of Delivery (PODs) and Proof of Collection (POCs) documents for each customer to sign. POCs, weighbridge tickets, PODs and other supporting paperwork would be returned to the office on the driver’s next visit. The accounts team would check off each POD/POC against the transport diary/spreadsheet to ensure all were present before correcting any weight discrepancies. They would then scan or photocopy each document for their own records. Once done all jobs were then entered into the company’s accounting software before invoices were sent.
Whilst working functionally for Monk Transport their legacy process saw every job containing more than 20 touch points as it transitioned towards the point of invoice. As a result of the tools being used accessing any real-time KPI performance reporting was extremely admin heavy. It was time for them to make a step change.
