M&J Transport (Hoddesdon) Limited are protecting their drivers from false claims using HaulTech’s Vehicle CCTV Solutions.
M&J Transport was born in 2019. The Hertfordshire-based company specialise in moving empty pallets to and from customer sites as well as general haulage. The small company received false claims against their drivers and was looking for a solution to prove their drivers’ innocence. The general haulier looked at many options but found HaulTech had the perfect system for them.
HaulTech’s vehicle CCTV solutions offer full HD recording, capturing the smallest details in the result of an incident on the road. These recordings are court-admissable and can be used to dispute and defend against false claims whilst simultaneously protecting the fleet operators’ insurance premium. Company Director, Julie Brockwell said, “We decided to have cameras fitted mainly to back up our drivers, everyone is quick to blame the lorry driver but this isn’t always the case.”
Since installing HaulTech’s commercial-grade vehicle CCTV system, M&J Transport has managed to record two hit and run incidents and capture footage of a third party road-user crashing into the side of their truck. The road user blamed M&J Transport for the incident, however, quickly dropped their accusation after viewing footage caught from HaulTech’s vehicle CCTV solution. The Company Director commented, “Being able to see where a vehicle is and pick up camera footage remotely is excellent as soon as other drivers see the cameras the story always seems to change!”
Not only will M&J benefit from remote access to the footage but they will be able to rest easy knowing footage from any potential incidents will be automatically highlighted within the multi-award-winning online TrakMan portal. HaulTech’s vehicle CCTV solutions have built-in g-sensors which detect and notify users of event triggers such as harsh braking, harsh accelerating and vehicle shocks. When any of the aforementioned sensors are triggered, the g-sensor will pick up the disturbance and the footage from the incident will seamlessly appear within the platform. This information can be quickly collated and used to better understand how a fleet is operating and how drivers are behaving.
