DB Foods are defending their vehicles, drivers and insurance premiums with HaulTech’s vehicle CCTV solutions.

DB Foods are a major wholesale meat distributor. The company started by supplying a range of meat products to high street and catering butchers and have successfully expanded their operations over their 30 years in the industry. They now supply to large restaurant groups, online businesses, airlines and cruise ships including Fred Olsen and P&O. The Dorset-based company also export UK sourced red meat, poultry, game and deli meats across the globe. However, with their expansion came unforeseen issues for their HGV drivers who were faced with false claims from third-party road users. To combat this issue, DB Foods sought a product to protect their drivers and insurance premiums. They found a perfect solution with HaulTech’s vehicle CCTV and tracking system, TrakMan.

The multi-award-winning system can have up to 8 cameras attached to build a full 360-degree view around the vehicle. The vehicle CCTV solutions ability to cover all angles has supported DB Foods to mitigate false claims from other drivers. Transport Manager, Billy Pentney, explained, “we have had numerous people claim our trucks have gone over the lines on a roundabout and hit their cars but HaulTech’s cameras have helped us to disprove them.” By disproving the claims, DB Foods have managed to keep their insurance premiums down. Without the cameras, Billy believes that the company’s insurers would have paid out the claimants unnecessarily and increased the wholesale meat distributor’s premiums.

HaulTech’s vehicle solutions also include integrated tracking as standard, which is currently supporting DB Foods against another fraudulent accusation where a road user claims to have been in an incident with one of the company’s HGV drivers. Billy commented on the situation, “the tracking with the cameras has shown our driver was 2 hours away to where the accident apparently happened.” As a result of using HaulTech’s integrated vehicle CCTV and tracking solution, the company’s fleet has managed to dispute this claim and challenge its validity.

HaulTech is proud to give DB Foods the perfect defences to go on the offence against fraudulent claims.
