HaulTech is very pleased to announce the appointment of Patrick Fegan to the role of Senior Technical Manager.
With over 11 years of experience working in IT, he is set to take our technical development into a new era, working with customers, designing and developing solutions to suit their needs. Patrick will join us at the beginning of the next year 2017 to support the company’s Technical department, and will work closely with Steve Kimberley, Technical Director. He will bring with him a wealth of knowledge and technical experience, having previously worked closely with haulage companies providing high level strategic planning and technical consultancy.
Commenting on his new role, Patrick said: “Working as a consultant for several years has provided me with the skill to be able to listen and understand customer needs and expectations. Every customer is different, sure, but they all want to achieve the same result through technology and it all revolves around time, convenience and productivity. What I enjoy the most about my job is to enable other businesses to benefit from technical strategies”.
He also firmly believes that effective internal communication is key to achieve goals in terms of productivity and customer satisfaction. “I will be constantly working on strengthening my relationships with other teams, I would like to perform a high level of interaction with other areas and bring new and fresh ideas to the table”.
We believe Patrick is the perfect fit for the company and we are all looking forward to welcome him in January. Clare Armstrong, Commercial Director, said, “We’re delighted to have Patrick on board. He is focused and enthusiastic and everyone is looking forward to working with him to help take HaulTech through its next growth stage.”

Motor Transport Awards 2016
Known as the transport industry Oscars, the Motor Transport Awards highlights and celebrates the achievements of the industry and recognise innovation, outstanding service, efficiency and quality. This year, more than 70 of the transport industry’s leading figures were judged across twenty categories and evaluated by an independent panel of industry experts.

Birmingham has been ranked as England’s “crash for cash” capital ›
A very complete report from the BBC ranked the second city as the capital for ‘crash for cash’ scams.
According to an insurance group, 25% of its 3,000 crash for cash claims last year were in Birmingham, in particular the B11 area of Sparkbrook, Sparkhill and Tyseley (BBC News, 2016).
Fraudulent crashes are usually ‘induced accidents’, where a fraudulent driver targets innocent motorists in order to claim whiplash compensation.
They also include ‘staged’ crashes, where two drivers purposely crash into each other and make it look like an accident.
“Induced accidents now account for nearly half of all organised motor fraud we detect”. (Tom Gardiner, Head of Fraud at Aviva)
Former West Midlands Police detective Neil Thomas said: “Birmingham is quite an obvious choice – it has been a hotspot for a number of years. There’s the high volume of traffic and also the road network”.
Research showed Leeds, Harrow, parts of London, Bradford, Luton, Coventry and Oldham were all in the top 10 hotspots.
Motorists should remain alert to induced accidents, especially in vulnerable areas.
